Namecheap is now the only domain name registrar that I use. I have used some of the other domain registrars, and they are okay, but I prefer the user interface of Namecheap over the others. Namecheap also has been on the lower spectrum of pricing in the comparisons I have done when registering new domains.
HostGator has been my exclusive web host for over a year now. Any time I get stuck on something, usually because of my ignorance, they have always been there to help me quickly. None of my sites on their servers have ever been down. HostGator is the company I recommend to all my family and friends who are getting started online
WordPress is a powerful website publishing platform that is used by more than 24% of the entire internet. WordPress is free to use and gives you the power to fully customize your website however you like and you don't need to know how to code. There paid or free "themes" and "plugins" that you can use to enhance your website.
I have used a lot of different WordPress themes on my websites, both free and paid. Last time I was searching for a premium theme and doing a thorough comparison, I came across Thrive Themes and decided to purchase their entire suite. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the Thrive Themes suite is. Best value for your money.
SumoMe has a few different features like social sharing buttons and heat maps. I have been using their free service and love the look of their social sharing buttons on both desktop and mobile. Also try their Welcome Mat tool.
Visual Editor from Thrive Themes is by far the fastest and easiest way to build your website. I'm not sure I can go back to building websites any other way now that I've used their Visual Editor. Included in their full membership.
The Yoast SEO plugin for your WordPress site will help you make sure that you are giving yourself the best chance to be found by search crawlers like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and the others. You don't need to be an SEO expert to do SEO.
Email List Automation
I started out on a free trial with AWeber when I first started building email lists. I don't have any experience with other email automation tools, but I love AWeber and don't plan to switch to another provider. MailChimp is the obvious next best option for beginners, but I hear it get's expensive as your email list grows. AWeber's pricing is fair.
Social Media Management
Buffer is an awesome tool that will save you a lot of time and drive more traffic to your website. I have Buffer linked to my Facebook and Twitter profiles. I schedule the posts I want to go to those profiles and when I want them to go. I saw a huge increase of traffic to my website when I first started using it. I'll always continue to use this tool.
I enjoy using IFTTT to help automate some of the things I do on different social media channels to engage with my audience and drive traffic back here to my blog. IFTTT allows you to connect different channels and use one as a trigger that perform an action in another. I wrote a post about IFTTT that you can read here.
After trying multiple ways to shorten links for social media sharing I am only using Sniply from now on. Obviously the main feature here is the ability to stay with the reader as they read the article you share with Sniply. The CTA button allows you to do many things you can't with other link shorteners. But, besides that, I really love their analytics dashboard. I wrote more on Sniply in a blog post here.
If you know me, you know that I build niche websites. If you don't know, now you know. I use Long Tail Pro to do my Keyword Research before I start building any of my websites. For me it is the more of the tools that I use the most. I love it because it's easy to use, the interface is clean, and the data I'm able to pull with it allows me to target the keywords that I will make the most money with. You need this tool.
